York Furrier Supports the Service Club of Chicago’s Fashionable #FUNdraiser

A Perfect Day for Fashion & Philanthropy at The Peninsula Chicago.

On Monday, August 7, 2023, the Service Club of Chicago hosted their annual Must Attend Social Soiree – a Luncheon Fashion Show Fund Raiser at The Peninsula Chicago. This year’s Day on the Terrace extravaganza, was titled “133 Years of Change.” That’s 133 years (since 1890!) of providing grants and support for HUNDREDS of Chicagoland charities and organizations in order to make life better for those in need. York Furrier was thrilled to be a part of this year’s successful event – with a donation to the Grand Raffle, gift cards for each guest’s swag bag, and providing our YF Collection Fur, Fine Outerwear & Accessory Fashions for organizational models to don during the ZZAZZ Productions First Look at Fall Runway Show.

Kudos

With almost 350 guests in attendance, this year’s fund raiser generated over $100,000.00!!!!  Kudos to Service Club President, Jean Antoniou, and her luncheon fashion show co-chairs, Tracey DiBuono and Sharyl Mackey. Others deserving of a shout-out include: Past President, Myra Reilly, for coordinating the coveted Look Book, Andrea Antoniou and the entire Service Club Auxiliary Board for behind-the-scenes support and planning the lively After Party that featured DJ Akib from 312 Entertainment (keeping the dance floor packed all afternoon), Candace Jordan and Chicago Star Media for pre- and post-event media coverage, along with loyal donors, the Diamond Sponsors – Sherill Bodine, Darby Hills, Cheryl Coleman, and Susan Gohl, Gold Sponsors – Melissa Babcock, Kathy Cook, and Mary Lasky, Silver Sponsors – Gene & Georgetti Restaurant, Nina Mariano, and Weller Dental. Applause for ALL of You plus the dedicated committee members, auction bidders, raffle ticket buyers, gift item donors, the models, and attendees!!!

The Event Details

Guests were treated to a champagne toast upon arrival, had time to bid on silent auction items and purchase raffle tickets (many hoping to be the recipient of the York Furrier donated fur rosette trimmed cape!), headed to the butterfly adorned selfie wall for pics on the Peninsula Terrace, enjoyed mingling with chic attired friends, all followed by a call to The Peninsula Chicago’s Grand Ballroom to be seated for lunch (which included a decadent dessert!). In the ballroom, the mood was set with DJ Akib’s energetic tunes, tables were adorned with gorgeous blooms from Kehoe Designs, and on each chair, guests found an abundant swag bag with great goodies – a sample from Divine Biscotti, a personal sized split of champagne from Tufano’s Vernon Park Tap, a nail file courtesy of Berkshire Hathaway’s Lisa Huber, a Claudio Riaz lip gloss, a specialty tea sample provided by Chicaco Tea House, gift cards from Leah Chavie Skincare, Davis Imperial Cleaners, Alice + Olivia, and a card to redeem at York Furrier for a colorful fur accessory.

Once guests settled into their seats, the ballroom lights dimmed, and it was showtime! Tracey DiBuono of ZZAZZ Productions introduced the organizational models and commentated the best of Fall Fashions from Chicagoland designers and boutiques. Attendees were treated to sensational styles from: Alice + Olivia, Anne Fontaine, Contessa Bottega, Elda de la Rosa Couture, Lauren Lien Ltd., Max Mara, Mira Couture, Nieman Marcus, Peter Millar, St. John Boutique, Sylwia, and New Arrivals from York Furrier located in the Elmhurst City Centre
