York Furrier Photo Shoot Celebrates the Mother and Daughter Bond
This Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8th, show some love and appreciation for the special woman that’s always been in your corner - Mom, Grandma, Step-Mom, or your fave Mother-figure. After all that she has done for you, it’s a day of CELEBRATION that should definitely be scheduled for her!
In addition to gifting her a bouquet of flowers and something fabulous from the YF Collection (see the Mother’s Day Gift Ideas in photos below!), York Furrier suggests spending much-needed time together to chill and chat while treating her to scrumptious nibbles, decadent desserts, or sips of bubbly. Check-out these Elmhurst, IL locations where a special group of Chicagoland area Mothers (a Grandmother too!) and their Daughters were photographed by the talented Michelle Elfvin as they modeled Spring New Arrivals from York Furrier in the Elmhurst City Centre.

This dynamic Mother/Daughter duo both serve as Board Members for the Les Turner ALS Foundation. Both have active roles on the Gala Committee for the Foundation’s 34th annual Hope Through Caring Gala scheduled for May 21, 2022 at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel. The black-tie optional evening honors individuals for their pioneering treatment approaches to help the ALS community, and raises needed research and care giving funds via a live auction (featuring a York Furrier Sable trimmed Sheared Mink walking coat that reverses to rainwear) and a grand raffle drawing. Amy and Colleen graciously agreed to be part of the YF Mother/Daughter photo shoot, despite their power-packed schedules. Amy is a local attorney and partner at the Grogan Hesse & Uditsky P.C. law firm. Her firm offers the experience of a large law office while cost-effectively providing the personal attention of a small firm. Amy specializes in construction and corporate litigation, business buy-sell agreements, employment law, and estate planning. In her limited spare time, she enjoys creating artwork - drawing and painting, and spending time with hubby, Kevin and their three almost grown-up children in Elmhurst, IL - a place they’ve called home for 25 years.
Colleen is a junior studying nursing at Loyola University Chicago. In addition to her studies, Colleen is a former track star who still enjoys staying active and fit, and she’s a member of the 45 Kings, an award winning improv team - making her fabulous, smart & funny!!! She was thrilled to be modeling with “my beautiful Mom!”

To pair with Lezza’s bright pink candy store, Colleen selected a pink pearlized leather zip jacket accessorized with a flowing floral scarf and a Queen Bee envelope clutch that converts to a shoulder bag with a metallic chain. Amy opted to wear the ivory metallic lamb leather zip jacket with croc detail accents paired with the metallic mesh Bee Hive cell bag. Perfect looks for Leather Weather!

By day, Eugenia works as a territory sales manager for an HVACR distributor. On evenings and weekends, she is the award winning coach of the Montini Catholic High School Broncettes varsity dance team. In her 32nd year of coaching, under her tutelage, the Broncettes, perform their routines at home football and basketball games, at pep rallies, during the annual fashion show, while running the kids’ camp, and during IHSA State Competitions - where numerous teams through the decades have proudly stood on the podium and lifted large trophies that were brought back to the MCHS display case. Even better, Eugenia has coached her two daughters, Taylor and Tori, when they were Broncettes!
While Taylor was busy at work; she owns her own hair studio - Salon T in Downers Grove, younger daughter, Tori ventured-out to spend time with her fun Mom. Like Eugenia, Tori grew-up with a passion for dancing. She enjoyed the studio competitions, performing with the Montini Broncettes, and even appeared in a music video, “Alone Together” and competed on the World of Dance season 2. She’s attended Loyola University, and currently works at Lucca Osteria Restaurant & Bar in Oak Brook. Stop-by to say, “Hi!”

While they sipped and nibbled at Cuvee Cellars, from the YF Collection, Eugenia and Tori were photographed (Thanks Again Michelle!!!) wearing colorful cashmere ponchos - purple for Mom and pink for Daughter. The awe inspiring accessories included the intricate handcrafted leather and beaded flower bag with a chain shoulder strap and the mini beaded crown cross-body bag.

(BTW - like York Furrier, a third generation family biz founded in 1931 - Lezza’s is a family owned Italian bakery - plus spumoni, a candy store, the famous Lezza mix popcorn, and the best cannolis too! It opened in 1905 and is operated by 3rd and 4th generation family members with the next generation almost ready to carry on Lezza’s taste-treat traditions.)
A grandmother to 5 grandchildren ages 9 - 20 years old, Jean came prepared for the YF photo shoot with her neighbor and Canasta buddy, the talented My Friend’s Place Salon, hair stylist, Debi Serritella. With her cute coiffed do, Jean was joined by her daughter, Andrea, and granddaughter, Avery. Andrea is both a private interior home designer and a fitness instructor at Patriot Sports 2.0 in Elmhurst. She and her husband, Dr. Daryl O’Connor - an orthopedic surgeon for Orthopedic Specialists in Elmhurst, are parents of 13 yr. old son, Donovan, and 11-year-old daughter, Avery. After pick-up from school (she’s enjoying 6th grade), Avery was ready to strike a pose (and enjoy the famous Lezza spumoni!). Along with her modeling gig alongside Mom and Grandma, Avery is super busy with travel volleyball and softball, plus her equestrian team too. With two active kids, Andrea frequently operates in Uber driver mode.
